Camino, Legislation and Discipleship!
Let Your Voice Be Heard!
The Physician-Assisted Suicide (PAS) bill has been reported favorably by the Joint Committee on Public Health.
If passed by the full legislature and signed into law by the Governor, Physician-Assisted Suicide would become law in the Commonwealth.
It is not too late to stop this legislation!
This is the first time the bills have received a favorable recommendation from a committee since first introduced in 2011. The two bills were also amended slightly and merged into one bill. It has now been assigned to the Health Care Finance Committee for its review. We must do what we can to prevent it from going any further than the committee level. Efforts by the
Mass. Catholic Conference
and other like-minded groups and individuals to defeat these bills are ongoing.
In addition to the Catholic Church’s teaching that life begins at conception and ends naturally, there are many other concerns that remain in the bill.
You can help by letting your senator and representative know where you stand on this issue.

Text of Bill
The Camino de Santiago or Way of St. James, is a pilgrimage of Medieval Origin to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, in the North West of Spain. Legend has it that the remains of the Apostle Saint James the Great were buried there and discovered by a shepherd in the 9th century
This year a Virtual Challenge of the pilgrimage has been created! This challenge, named The Conqueror, is 480 miles and each time you complete a distance-based exercise activity such as running, walking, cycling, etc., you, your family, or team advance along the map from France to Spain. There is an app to monitor progress and includes street views, virtual postcards, and a medal and certificate for completion. You can choose up to 78 weeks to complete the challenge and there is an entry fee. Click on the pic above for more info and let us know your progress!
St. Mary's website host, e-Catholic, recently highlighted awareness of our online giving option. Email messages were sent to parishioners encouraging recurring online giving. After one month we had a 268% increase in
online giving for our parish! Amazing! Thank you for your generosity!
With on-line giving you can earmark your donations to specific accounts. Below is the list of accounts that you may donate to individually throughout the year.
Please save for future reference.

All the nations you have made shall come
to bow before you, Lord,
and give honor to your name.
For you are great and do wondrous deeds;
and you alone are God.
