Feast of the Assumption. Holy Day.
The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a Holy Day of Obligation.
Thursday, August 15
Masses will be celebrated at 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM.
Our Blessed Mother Mary shows us how to trust in God. Through her "yes" we have come to know him. Her faith in God is a model for us and for the Church and always leads us to her loving son, Jesus Christ. The Assumption of Mary celebrates her participation in the new life given to us by our Lord Jesus Christ. It is the celebration of our hope in the future. By putting Christ at the center of our lives, we hope to live in eternity with him. Please pray for us, O Virgin Mother.
August 15 is also a special day in our parish as it is the 166th Anniversary of the founding of St. Mary Parish in 1853! While this is not the original location of St. Mary, we have been in this location for quite some time. The people of St. Mary have always been very faith filled people and good stewards of their beloved parish. This was evidenced by the response by you the parishioners when asked to help fund a new roof for the rectory this summer. So far, $42,000.00 has been raised. This is a phenomenal response and allowed the project to move forward quickly. It has already been completed!! Above is a picture of the finished roof. Please note the flat parts were not redone as they did not need to be. Thank you all so much!!
The St. Mary Linen Ministry is looking for volunteers to join their team to launder the Liturgical Linens used during the Mass. The commitment is for two months out of the year. Linens are collected weekly, washed and brought back to the Sacristy. If you can help please call the Parish Office at 508-278-2226.

"Mary said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.” Then the angel departed from her."
